The 50 mile long Cherohala Skyway is the other favorite. While tamer, it offers unsurpassed views of Joyce Kilmer Memorial Park and the Cherokee National Forest.

The town of Lake Santeetlah in Graham County is just north of Robbinsville on a peninsula surrounded by Lake Santeetlah, which in turn is largely surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest. The Nantahala National Forest provides exceptional recreational opportunities including 50 primitive campsights and fishing. The Santeetlah Marina is the only full-service marina with 76 miles of shoreline.
